Why isn’t my embedded link displaying in ScreenCloud with the Embed app?

This is usually due to restrictions set by the source website. First, confirm that you have copied the correct iFrame embed code. If the issue persists, common causes include restrictive X Frame Options headers such as SAMEORIGIN which block cross domain embedding, regional or network access restrictions, missing whitelist entries, or security policies set by the website owner that prevent use on third party platforms. In some cases, this may appear as a 404 error when attempting to load the content in ScreenCloud.

To resolve this, ensure the URL is publicly accessible and not behind a login, confirm that the website allows external embedding, and whitelist all required domains - including embed.apps.screencloud.com and any related ScreenCloud services or systems connected to the embedded site - within your network or firewall settings. If the website owner has enforced security restrictions, the content may not be able to display unless those restrictions are removed.

Why can’t I see my embedded link content on my Smart TV when I can see it in the Embed app preview in my ScreenCloud account?

Accepted Answer

The website you’ve embedded may require a newer version of Chromium than your Smart TV or display can support. For example, Samsung Tizen and LG webOS Signage TVs often run on older Chromium versions. Can I use the Embed app to share a social media post?

Accepted Answer

No, social media channels do not allow you to display content in an external iframe so the sharing of Facebook posts, Instagram posts, etc. will show the message “site doesn’t allow to be embedded into iframe”.
